Tesla CEO Elon Musk, whose company operates a large plant in China, has said Chinese automakers are the greatest competitors for his Texas-based company. "They were 26% [market share] a few years ago, up to more than 50% in 2022 and headed towards two-thirds by the end of the decade." Chinese companies have begun expanding into Mexico, Europe and elsewhere, Wakefield said. The EU believes Chinese EVs are undercutting the prices of local models by about 20% in the European market. The influx of Chinese EVs has spurred the European Union to launch into government support for the industry.

The match at the San Siro will be the first time since 1962 that the Milan sides meet while top of the table. But this Milan side are a different proposition from the team who put up such a disappointing defence of their league title last season. Preparations for the derby will mostly come down to the last few days with most of their starting players returning from international duty. Milan have a concern over Giroud after he went off injured in France's win over Ireland last week but are hopeful he can recover. Jose Mourinho's AS Roma, with just one point from three games, will try to kick-start their season when they host Empoli on Sunday.

Soccer Football - Europa League - Semi Final - First Leg - Juventus v Sevilla - Allianz Stadium, Turin, Italy - May 11, 2023 General view of Juventus flags seen outside the stadium before the match REUTERS/Massimo Pinca/File Photo Acquire Licensing RightsROME, Sept 11 (Reuters) - The Exor holding company that owns Juventus is considering putting the Serie A club up for sale, Italian daily Il Giornale wrote on Monday, without citing sources. Exor believes that after operations to clean up the accounts of Italy's most historically successful team it can put it on sale for at least 1.5 billion euros ($1.61 billion), Il Giornale added. Juventus was banned from UEFA competition for this season after finishing seventh in Serie A last term due to a 10-points deduction for alleged false accounting practices. Speculation has arisen in the past about the possibility of Exor selling Juventus, and in May a company spokesman told Reuters its commitment to the club "remains unchanged." SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) -Electric truck maker Nikola Corp may execute a reverse stock split if its stock does not comply with Nasdaq’s minimum bid price requirements within a certain period, its chief executive Michael Lohscheller said on Thursday. Nasdaq requires shares trade above $1 and sends a notice if one trades below that mark for 30 consecutive business days. If Nikola cannot comply in those periods, the company can execute the reverse stock split, subject to a shareholder vote, to move its shares above the $1 mark, Lohscheller said. A reverse stock split consolidates the number of existing shares into fewer shares. Cash burn in the first quarter was $240 million, compared with $200 million per quarter in 2022, Nikola said last month.

Juventus says first half loss shrinks as pandemic impact fades

The result compares with a restated loss of 112.1 million euros for the same period of the previous fiscal year. Juventus said in a statement that revenue development and actions taken to contain costs had also contributed to narrowing the loss in the six months to Dec. 31. It added that although the economic and financial background remained unfavourable, there was a "significant improvement" in the current fiscal year compared to the previous one. The club, which posted a 239 million euro loss for the year to June 30, 2022, had already said in September that it expects to also finish the current fiscal year in the red. Juventus are now in seventh place, just four points outside the European qualifying places.

"I am surely blessed and grateful and humbled and my heart is very full tonight toward the Museum of Cinema for having had le palle (the guts) to invite me tonight," he said. In the run-up to the award ceremony, the Turin-based La Stampa newspaper ran an editorial headlined "Italy, land of plenary indulgence".

"Obviously the macro(-economic situation) in Europe is more challenging, which gives me pause, personally," Stellantis chief financial officer Richard Palmer said on a conference call with analysts. "If there was anywhere where I was more concerned, it would be Europe than anywhere else really based on the macro." They have also benefited from strong consumer demand amid low vehicle supply, allowing them to raise prices and keep them high even as the semiconductor shortage shows signs of easing. Both BMW and Stellantis said on Thursday they had vehicle order books that stretched into the second quarter of 2023. "And the ones we can build in Europe at the moment we're struggling to get to the point of sale."

REUTERS/Massimo Pinca/File PhotoROME, Oct 19 (Reuters) - Rising temperatures risk stunting the growth of the Italian economy over the coming decades, with sectors such as agriculture and tourism among the hardest hit, a Bank of Italy research project said on Wednesday. Gross domestic product per person could fall by anything between 2.8 and 9.5% by 2100 compared with baseline estimates, the report added. Resorts at lower levels faced the greatest risk, with artificial snow unable to compensate fully for the absence of the genuine article.
